Please Join us for a Discussion on Character
The first in our Craft Calls series - for paid subscribers
We have scheduled the next in our series of Craft Calls, a discussion about characters and what makes them effective in fiction. The online session will be held on Saturday, August 3, from 10 am to 11:30 am Pacific time (1 pm to 2:30 pm Eastern).
Craft Calls were originally held among Orca staff members, but are now open to paid subscribers. Paid subscribers will have the same meeting privileges as staff members. They will be able to engage in the discussion right alongside Orca staff, or they listen in. The sessions will be recorded and available to subscribers for viewing at a later time.
We will cover aspects of character such as making characters sympathetic, how to craft unreliable characters, and how to strengthen the ability to write differing characters.
Craft Calls are casual talks among writers, not lecture-style presentations. Orca editors Joe Ponepinto, Zac Kellian, and Kellie Tatum will moderate.
Please email us at orcaliterary@gmail.com if you would like to attend, and we will be sure to send you a meeting invite. If you have any specific aspects of character that you would like to see us include, just add that to your email message.
